Halloween fun!!

We had a really fun Halloween! It started on the Friday before Halloween when we went to the Marana Pumpkin Patch. Landen said he wanted to get a REALLY BIG pumpkin, so we told him if he could carry it, he could get it. He definitely got the biggest pumpkin he could carry! There was a little hay maze for the kids that we went through and the boys liked the slide at the end. It was truly a wonderful family night out!

The next day we had trunk-or-treat at the church. A wonderful dinner was served first fallowed by some games and a haunted house.

On Sunday we carved our pumpkins. Dade really got into it and had a lot of fun helping me clean out and carve the pumpkin. Landen enjoyed watching us but didn't really want to touch the guts.

Now for Halloween. Landen dressed up as a ninja and Dade dressed up as a biker dude. There is a neighborhood near us that goes all out for Halloween. They block off the road and everyone sits out on their driveway as kids go around. It was a lot of fun but there were a lot of people there. The boys had a lot of fun and were not very happy when we were done trick-or-treating.

Yummy Cakes

I made a cake for both Alexa's birthday and my mom's birthday. Alexa loves giraffes and my mom loves the Oregon Ducks. Here are some pictures of the cakes. I used a marshmallow fondant that was supper easy to make and tasted really good.

I have some great news and I am too happy to hold it in! I GOT A JOB!! I am very excited about it. I applied at Great Clips a few weeks ago and had my interview shortly after. I have called a few times and was told that my application was sent to a few of the locations. Nothing was happening and one of the locations had hired someone else so I was really feeling like I wasn't going to get the job. Then this morning I got a call from the manager I had the interview with and she said she just got an opening and offered me the job. I finally feel like things are starting to work out. Thank you everyone for your prayers I am so grateful for them. Now I am just praying for Drew to get a job and that we can get our own place.

We are still here

It has been awhile since I have posted but I haven't had much to say. We are still here in Tucson, still with my parents, still no jobs. I will post more on all that when something happens.

On a much happier note Dade went potty in the toilet for the first time today!!! I am so excited because he has not been interested in going potty in the toilet at all. We finally got him his own toilet a few weeks ago and had him just sit on the top of it until he got comfortable with it. Then starting this week we have gotten him to sit on it with out his diaper a few times and today he went potty. Just today we got him a book to read while he sat on the toilet so I read it to him about 6 times and read another book once. After he went potty I couldn't get him off, he sat there for about 10 more minutes. I would ask him if he was done or ready to get down and he would tell me "No not yet". Yay for potty training!!

Landen is such a little fish. He loves to swim and asks almost every day if he can. It has only taken him four months to go from not liking to put his face in the water and wearing a life vest to being an exceptional swimmer. He is so comfortable in the water and a very good swimmer. Dade is getting more comfortable in the pool but still likes to hang out on the step. He loves to splash and jump on the step and is starting to be okay with going under water. It is starting to be cool enough to go out side and play which has been really nice. It gets hard being cooped up together in the house when its too hot outside. 

I am trying to be more positive about our situation. I am so thankful for my family and the love and support they have shown us. Landen and Dade have helped me out so much. Landen is so sweet and loving. A few days ago I was sitting in my room leaning on the dresser drawer and Landen just came in, didn't say anything, and started rubbing my back. He is always doing things like that and he never forgets to tell me he loves me. A day does not go by with out him saying "I love you" at least 10 times, and that is not exaggerating. Dade is constantly making me laugh. He is just about the goofiest kid I have ever met. He does some pretty weird things that all you can do is laugh. I am so grateful for Drew and for the wonderful relationship we have. I know he has had to put up with a lot with me and my emotions and I love him so much for it. This time has definitely made us grow even closer.

Not much to say

There really isn't anything to update about. Drew is in the process of looking for a job so we are just waiting. We spent last week watching my two nieces and nephew. Five kids for one week all under the age of 5; yeah, just as crazy as it sounds! The first few days were great. The boys entertained themselves very well and we had fun playing with the girls. Then by the end of the week the boys we driving each other crazy which meant they were driving us crazy and the girls were missing their mom and dad. It was really nice getting to know them better and spending time with them. We also enjoyed seeing Drew's brother and sister and their families. Landen has loved being able to spend so much time with Grandpa and I am not sure what he is going to do when we get our own place. We are so thankful for all our family, for their love and support during this time in our lives.
